No I’ve worked on these cars for years so I know my way around the only problem is if it’s an ECM or something like that I have to get it reprogram which is about $200 at a local dealership. Or could be a low voltage battery or something in the harness. Like a poor connection.
anybody have this experience in this scenario? Is it worth it? I mean I can get this car at a pretty good deal but if I have to pass on it it’s not a big deal.
I would hate to buy something and then have to invest $1000 into it because I’m depending on somebody doing a reset or something to that effect again. The vehicle drives great. The only thing that doesn’t work is the radio.

If you can scan it with a MB specific scanner, you will know which modules are not talking to each other.
It can be:
1 - A dead module on the other side
2 - A loose communication wire somewhere
3 - Water damage on communication bridge
4 - ??
W/o more data, it is just gambling

Some in the forum recommend the Autel MaxiAP 200 Bluetooth (https://autel.com/us/product/maxiap-ap200-c-h-m/ ) , which is reasonably priced ( ). I have only used for Honda (locked), and I was impressed by the features for $50. I personally have iCarSoft (which I rarely use anymore), and a XEntry laptop because of the different cars I look after.
