2011 ML350
Looking to upgrade my W164 to a W166. 3.5L or twin turbo 3.0?

My 2011 ML 350 has been the most reliable car I've ever owned. It has 180k miles on it and I'm not having any problems with it. But I'm just ready to get a few upgrades. I've cross shopped the Range Rover Sport 15-17 (Ford years), the GLE350's, GLE400's, and ML400's (which I didn't know existed). My preference would be the RR but I'm a little scared of the potential maintenance. I like the idea of having an engine that's a little more powerful, athletic, and fuel efficient. But I don't' know much about these engines as far as maintenance and reliability. The 350 has been bomb proof for me but a little lacking in power with such a heavy vehicle. I could live with it again in a newer GLE but if the twin turbo is more fun to drive, I'll look at them. Any one have any experience with the 400 vs 350 motor?

I have an ML 400 love it. The power is great. Average @ 19 mpg in town. Just took it to Vegas, averaged 23.5 mpg. Engine build power immediately. 350 is nice but a little pokey around town.

Go with the turbo 6. Much better mileage on the hwy.

Agree with the 3.0TT comments, and a tune is available if desired. No tune with much history or user reviews available for the 3.5NA.
