Had my ML 350 in to the dealer for servicing and they found cracks in the rear suspension springs. Quote was $1,400 parts and $850 labor to replace both. I was told I can drive it until the parts come in next week. I am waiting for additional quotes.
Do you think the replacement is necessary? This is a photo of the cracking on one of the springs. I was told this one is the worst. I have noticed no difference in the drive.
absolutely necessary. Not hard to do with OEM parts that can be found for WAY cheaper than the dealer quoted you. If you're going really slowly and deliberately, taking pictures of everything you move, you might spend 4 or 5 hours on the project; the second side will be much faster than the first.
