Drive Select / Steering Feel of W166's?
Hi there,
I'm looking to purchase a 2012 - 2015 ML350, but I was wondering if any of these years had drive select options. And if not, how light is the steering compared to GLE models that do have the comfort mode. I currently drive a Lexus RX350 AWD that's nice, but still a little too tight/heavy for the mostly "around town" driving I do.
Thanks!

My 2013 ML550 has it. It is a knob on center console. I believe the steering has 2 embedded settings, sport and comfort (automatically selected within the particular drive mode selected). Sport is fairly stiff, and comfort is the good German feel. You won’t get a super light steering feel like the 1960s/1970s Power Steering cars that felt totally disconnected, but more of a Power Assisted feel. I believe Lexus’ engineering theme is a more disconnected luxury experience, while German engineering design is more connected, driver involved. However, generally speaking, Mercedes will be more on the luxury side than like BMW. Go drive a couple and see what you think.
