2014 ML350 BlueTec Not Pairing with Iphone 16
This appears to be an issue with the bluetooth software in the Mercedes. As far as I know, MB has not released an update, and everyone I have spoken with at MB seem to indicate that this is not a priority for them.
Their solution is for you to purchase a new Mercedes.

To do this, make sure your Bluetooth is turned on in the vehicle.
Next go into the Infotainment Center's Phone menu and select Phones in the lower left corner and select Bluetooth Phones
Finally, select Options and click "External Authentication"
Now go to your phone's bluetooth menu and you should find the "MB Bluetooth." Select it and follow the instructions for pairing and your phone should pair with your Infotainment Center.
Please note that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not supported in the M-Class as it was a feature that was not added until the Facelift W166 (Rename to GLE).
If Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are important to you, there are aftermarket modifications that can be installed. However, install at your own risk as they may interfere with the vehicle's onboard computer.

My infotainment version is a bit different, go to "Phone" then in the lower left corner select "connect devs", then in the pulldown menu, choose "connect via phone". Then you will be prompt to go to your iphone's bluetooth menu to wait for "MB Bluetooth" showing up. Then follow the instructions for the rest of the steps.
The above steps are for phone connections.
To get audio connection via bluetooth, go to "Audio" and follow the prompts to activate it.
Enjoy the bluetooth on your "old" Mercedes!
