W166 on baord air compressor

Good day,

I want to find out if it's possible to use the onboard air to pump up a Tyre?

I am stuck on a farm with a nail in my Tyre. I have a Tyre repair kit but i donot have an air compressor.

There is an air tank in the well under the boot floor.

I was thinking surly they would have an air coupling that you could just put an airline and pump the Tyre?

That air tank likely has to do with the air suspension.

To answer your question, no, you will need an external way of filling the tires. That tank might also be under pressure you don't really want to mess with it.

Given enough money and enough time you can jury rig literally anything. However with a flat tire in need of immediate inflation and no fittings factory installed for that purpose it will take longer to boogie up something on the car than it will to get the tire to a shop. Air suspension compressors on cars are just a 12V air pump. They're absolutely not designed to move any serious amount of air - such as would be required to inflate your tire. Like nearly everything in life, doing it right the first time may appear inconvenient but its the best option in the long term.

I was under the impression that this would have been a built-in feature. This car has every other gimmick under the sun, I just assumed the smart German engineers would have let me use the onboard air compressor installed and ready to go.

I remember as a child pumping up my bike tyres with my mate's dads VW tourreg.

Here I actually found a video:

But I cannot seem to find any sort of official support for this on the Mercedes.

Japanese makes also have a built in vacuum cleaner but never a Mercedes I don't think...or maybe they do on a Van (like V-Class) in Europe or Asia?
