I replaced the fuel injectors on my 2013 ML350 and attempting to code the new injectors. My scan tool Autel 808 is asking for a 5 character alphanumeric value.
Here's a code from one of my injectors127807006871328324187400322CA0000000
I'm guessing the sequence represents
1 - skip
2780700687 - part number
1 - skip 3283241874 - ??
00 - skip 322CA - enter into scan tool 0000000 - skip
It sounds like you're on the right track with replacing the fuel injectors, but coding them correctly can be tricky depending on your scan tool. When entering the 5-character alphanumeric value, make sure you're pulling the exact code printed on the injector itself—sometimes it's case-sensitive or requires formatting. You might also find it helpful to refer to this Discord Timestamp Tool for precision-based timing during diagnostics and logs, especially if you're aligning procedures or data entries. Let us know if the Autel 808 accepts the code after a firmware update or reset!
Diagnostics > Mercedes-Benz > Automatic selection (enter vin)• From Diagnostic menu > Hot functions > Injector > Injector injection quantity adjustment
Enter the 5 character value for each cylinder.
Make sure key is in position 2 (ON not started)• Press F1. It should take less than 1 minute to save new values.
I also did the following (probably not needed)
Diagnosis > Control Unit > Unit of drive > ECM > Special function > Teach-in processes > Reset learned values > Reset of mixture adaptation values
When i started the car, it initially started then immediately died. Started again and idle was very rough. After a few minutes, the idle got smoother and smoother. Went for a test drive and the car is slightly more responsive and idles smoother around 500 to 600 rpm
Just so it has been said, when I replaced my Bank 2 injectors I was unaware of any need for "coding" so I didn't do it. The car started and ran fine. Some time later my Indie was working on the car for another matter. When he learned that I had replaced injectors and not coded them he did the coding. I have seen no difference in how the car runs. My understanding is that the ECU will automatically adjust for the new injectors, with or without the magic codes. The adjustment may happen faster with the codes but it will happen regardless.
