2012/13 ML350 heavy steering (electric)
We own this ML350 from new. Electric Power steering unit was replaced several years ago due to a MB recall. We recently noticed a reduced power steering assist. Feels "at times" heavy but always in stationary when more manual force is needed than before. Checked for codes: Nothing. Voltage is 14.8V. All fuses are good. Steering sensors and ABS sensors ok and recognized by system. Other than a bad steering motor, what could be the reason for this?

Yep, dumb question on my part; I know better.
What did you use to check for codes with? A generic reader that can only talk one way with the engine? Or were you using a good scanner that can have a two way conversation with all the systems on the car?
