What size Hex for Rear Diff for 2015 ML400

Question What size Hex for Rear Diff for 2015 ML400
Newbie when it comes to changing fluids, but diffs look easy. What size hex key is required to change the rear differential? Definitely not the same size as the front differential and transfer case. Thanks!

Not sure if we're talking introverted or extraverted hex but I would say it's and 8 to 12 MM introverted hex you should post pics

Best to get a set of different sizes. I think it was 17mm on my car, but that doesn’t prove it will be that size for you.

What GTI said. The money saved by DIY will more than pay for a decent quality set of hex sockets and a wrench to drive them.
