I want a broken coil pack!
If you have one sitting around collecting dust, hit me up. I'm going to start troubleshooting and see if I can come up with a fix for the common problems. Can't start without a broken one, though.

Have you seen one? Just taking them apart is no small task.
I had a bad one that I tried taking apart. They are...difficult...as best. Not saying you don't have the skill; just don't expect it to be simple.

I posted about that in my "Misfiring" thread, it was a PITA to get the black cover off, destroy it is more like it. I could see a massive amount of heat on the edges might help, but it still wouldn't be simple and would probably require a new cover if you were able to fix it.

opposite-lock...
I just took off a passenger (right side) coil, was getting a misfire code in #5 @ ~54k mi
upon removing it, either the copper 'ground' wire that attaches to the 'boot' (metal sleeve rather) had failed, or - more likely - tore off as a result of my hamfisted removal 8-/
It's yours for biermonay (shipping)... PM me your address and I'll get you my Pay Pal info.
I'll ship it in the OEM box, it fits real nice in there.
