Hello, guys!

Can someone, please, tell me what or should there be oil consumption? I have 03 M275 W220 with 48k miles. Bought 2.5k miles ago, maintenance incl. oil change was made on the purchase. I drive this car for one year, periodically check oil level (it was always o.k.), then after 600 miles interval I checked the level and the computer asked to add 1.5 litters. Is this normal consumption for M275 or I should be expecting smth?

P.S. forgot to mention that a coil pack started to misfire cylinder 3 but no warning lights or errors shown

Many thanks

the oil level sensor is very finicky. make sure you check the level on a level ground after sitting for at least 4 hours. you can buy a dipstick that will help you check the level manually.

Thanks, you were right. Yesterday checked oil level again, showed o.k.
Now wonder, what is the real oil level

Thanks, so 1.5l is acceptable for 2000m?
P.S. don't understand why no one had raised this thread before

I burn through almost 1L every 1200miles (I average 3 bottles between 5k oil change intervals). More if I am riding her hard. This last change I had them put mobil 1 15w50 in her (summer, I'm not as worried) and it has slowed a bit (0.5L burnt at 1500 miles now).

It varies, but that amount of loss isn't a big deal. My '04 SL600 (91K) goes thru zero oil between changes, my wife's '07 E550 (125K) goes thru 2qts every 5K miles. And I'm certainly harder on the SL than she is on her E.
