Cl65 OEM OIL FILTER NOT FLEECE???

2005 Cl65

SO, I am getting ready to change my oil and popped down to my local mercedes dealer. Got part number directly from EPC-A2751800009
I pick it up, and take a look and it is a mann PAPER filter! I have always used OEM filters as I know that fleece is better and paper runs the risk of collapse.
Moreover, right on my oil filter cap is the factor sticker saying to only use Fleece filter.

This really bothers me.....what do you guys think? Did mercedes switch or something??
I found that a 2001 S600 oil filter is fleece (same part number as e55 sl55 etc). A0001802609

EDIT: Using part numbers checked dimensions and ours is 135mm height and the old fleece for e55 is same dimensions except height is 115mm so no go on this one. Still dont get why the sticker would be on there if they never used a fleece filter.

2751800010 is the plastic canister top. I think it comes with filter, but the filter it would come with is the same as I got. I can double check, but pretty sure there is no fleece filter anymore.
When checking through, it seems no mercedes AMG product uses fleece anymore. E63, 63 amg's, SLS, AMG gt, nothin. All cellulose.
Our Filter is rather tall. When using Mann website to search for filters by dimension, there is only our filter that fits the bill. And it is cellulose. Very strange.

To be honest, i don't know if i have a paper or "textil" filter in my car.

But if it is original MB-Part and the current, right part-nr. for you car, you can trust it.

Mann-Company is a quality deliverer for many car brands in Germany.

I agree with you that if that is what MB is doing then I should trust it. At the same time, it should be noted that according to all available data, the fleece filters lasted longer and were used due to their durability for extended drain intervals. Therefore, if the new filter is textile, then the service interval for this filter should be adjusted from what it was originally. Likely not everyone is waiting over 10k km to change the filter but if you are you should probably make sure the paper filter is lasting during this time. (original filter was fleece, had sticker on top of oil filter canister that said to only use fleece oil filters)

I change my oil every 5k miles so it doesn't seem like its an issue.

For Reference:
Purchased 2751800010 and it is the filter housing with filter included for around $45. Includes all o rings pre-installed. And yes the filter inside is paper.
