Thermostat replacement '05 S600

My coolant temps are way down and heat is not working completely. I think the stat is not working and when I looked up the part it shows a very expensive whole assembly. The MB WIS says that there is a separate stat to be replaced not the whole assembly. But I can't find this part in any of my usual suppliers. Can this stat be replaced cheaply or does the whole assembly have to be replaced.

You have to replace the whole assembly.
