PCV delete

Has anyone done a complete PCV delete on one of these engines? I'm looking at my w221 and it seems to me that this should be an easy delete. I've replaced the parts for the PCV but when I did I also had to replace a map sensor on the intake manifold that was fouled by oil passing through the old faulty PCV. Not to mention the oil in the driver's side charge air cooler. If anyone out there has deleted this please chime in. I want to work on this ASAP. Thanks in advance.

I'm curious. How would one delete the PCV system, and what would one replace it with? You've got to have some way to ventilate the crankcase... are you thinking a catch can and vent to the road, as was done in the 1950s, or something else?

I guess I worded that wrong. I mean using oil catch cans in line to keep oil from getting to the intake.

I have played around with that
always ended up with engine running bad after
to much sensors tailing I guess

if you manage to get it run post it
good luck

The stock system has an air/oil separator on the driver side head. I replaced mine because I was seeing more oil in the left turbo pipe than I thought there should be, but with a sample size of one -- maybe, maybe not. The intercooler seems to do a good job of collecting whatever oil the PCV system doesn't. I'm sure one could come up with a better separator design, but it's not a trivial task and I certainly wouldn't trust anything you'd find on Fleabay or Amazon. Any system will need occasional maintenance, it's dealing with some pretty nasty stuff and will eventually clog/gum/coke/plug up.

So from what I'm thinking, I wouldn't be actually deleting the system. I'd still keep the original oil separator but I would want to use 2 catch cans on the system. One on the line going to the charge air intake on the driver's side and the other going to the top of the intake manifold for when under full load conditions. I recently replaced the oil separator on the driver's side head. I'm just looking to add some extra protection against oil getting into the charge air. One other question I have about these engines, are they port injection or direct injection? I'm at 51k and wondering if I should look into cleaning the ports and valves.

They are port injected. No need to clean valves.
