ABC front struts - interchangeable btw 2002/2003 models?

I want to post the question if it is possible to interchange/simply change the hydraulic hose from the older model to the newer version?
Background is that on my S600 (2003) the dust cover is gone as well as the top mount BUT I have a set of brand new front shocks, unfortunately with the older hydraulic hose on them.
So would it be possible to simply change the hydraulic hose and use the shocks or are there model specific characteristics?
(Re the dust covers, cannot find anywhere online as they only offer the older version and not the cylinder type as seen in the pix)
