Just to inform fellow MBWorld folks, the best year for the M156 engine is in the 2014 C63 AMG Black Series and the C63 edition 507. All W211 AMGs with the M156 are still susceptible to the head bolt issue unless the service to replace them with the newer design was done.

Also I'd suggest to check injectors since few C63 W204 owners reported they got their engine hydro locked due to the faulty injectors which were stuck open.

The 2010 E63 in my garage would care to differ that 2009 was the last year of the M156 engine in an E. The M156 continued through 2011 and mid 2011 came with the head bolts addressed so I would think that was the "best" year of the 6.3 (6.2 actually) liter V8. GLWS
