We had one just like it but unfortunately we were T-boned at an intersection. I'd take this in a second, but, unfortunately I am in Canada. The border is closed with the virus. I fit's still available when the border is reopened, consider it sold. I fully expect it to be gone before this, however.

 

Not a problem. My deal on the CL550 never happened. The CLK has been so dependable I'm happy keeping it for now. Give me a shout when things loosen up, it will probably still be here. Be Safe and don't feed the bears!

 

Have you ever closely, I mean closely, checked the springs? I had to change all 4 of mine when 2 F & R passenger side were found broken. The first 3" or 4 " of the spring break and are almost impossible to see, because the spring just sits lower in the saddle. I had a noise/clang when I went slowly over a speed bump. I measured the height at the wheels F & B driver's side and sure enough found the heights were off. It wasn't a big deal cost wise and I might have been OK just changing the 2 broken ones, but decided to change all 4 while were there.
Hopefully the border is not closed for essential travel much longer.

We live right across the river from Detroit. If I can't find a carrier near you I'll drive down and pick it up.

I wasn't aware of the issue with the springs... but I did put new tires on it last fall and they gave the undersides a close look, without any issues. I'll keep my eye on it though.

 

Have there been any modifications done to the car other than the v-8 sign on the trunk where there should be an AMG crest?

 

The CLK430 was not offered as an AMG model, they just have the AMG appearance package, side skirts etc. If you see AMG badging, it is fake. The wheels are '05... everything else is stock.
