This 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series is one of 500 examples produced, and it is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in black over matching leather, it is equipped with black-finished 19″ AMG wheels, an adjustable AMG coilover suspension, bi-xenon headlights, carbon-fiber trim, sport seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, Keyless-Go, a Harman Kardon surround-sound system, and COMAND infotainment with navigation. The car was first registered in Florida and later spent time in Georgia and Texas.
The CLK63 Black Series was differentiated from the standard CLK by its DTM-inspired flared fenders, carbon-fiber-reinforced front and rear aprons, and a carbon-fiber decklid spoiler. This example is finished in black (040U) and features bi-xenon headlights, heated side mirrors, fender vents, and quad polished exhaust outlets.
The 19″ AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 265/30 front and 285/30 rear Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. Adjustable coilover suspension and AMG Electronic Stability Program (ESP) were standard equipment. Stopping power is provided by multi-piston AMG-branded calipers over cross-drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners.
The cabin features bolstered bucket seats trimmed in black Nappa leather with debossed AMG-logo headrests along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. The rear seats were omitted in Black Series models, and appointments include aluminum and carbon-fiber trim, Keyless-Go, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, satellite radio, a Harman Kardon LOGIC7 surround-sound system, COMAND infotainment with navigation, and a glovebox-mounted six-CD changer.
The leather-wrapped flat-bottom AMG steering wheel is equipped with paddle shifters and frames a 200-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates 22k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under me.
The hand-assembled 6.2-liter M156 V8 was factory rated at 500 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an AMG Speedshift seven-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
