Description:
FOR SALE: 2019 SL450, Polar White with Ginger Beige/Espresso Brown Exclusive Nappa Leather with Burl Walnut wood trim. Retractable hardtop.
I ordered this car new. It is one of a handful of SL450’s with Active Body Control or “ABC,” which makes this car ride like a dream! It also has the Premium Pkg., Driver’s Assistance Pkg., Soft Close Doors, Wood/Leather Steering Wheel and Illuminated Door Sills.
Within the first year of ownership, I installed brand new AMG Carbon Ceramic Brakes or “CCB,” along with brand new 19” AMG Forged, Polished Alloy Wheels & New Michelin A/S3+ tires. The CCB produce ZERO brake dust and can last over 100,000 miles. This cost me over $25,000.00. The original brake rotors, calipers, pads, etc. are included in the sale. The
The car has never spent a night outdoors or even more than 2 hours in the sun. No smoke, no pets, no accidents, never painted, never driven on the freeway, so windshield is unmarked.
If you would buy a new SL450 if you could, this is the car for you. $89,500.00. All serious offers considered. Selling due to downsizing garage space.
Please contact me by Private Message. I am in Corona Del Mar (Newport Beach), California.

@Streamliner Compared to a car with identical options and mileage and condition, but no ABC, what do you think the premium is for ABC in this market?
GLWS!

Obviously, in the case of my car, a potential buyer would have to appreciate the CCB and the forged wheels, along with the ABC to see the value. My car certainly isn’t for everyone.

Your pricing suggests a $30k premium for a nearly 5 year old used car with lots of alternatives in the market to choose from. Do you think you are $30k overpriced? Or $20k overpriced?
Are you truly committed to selling this car?
Trying to be helpful here to liquidate the goods. If you aren’t emotionally ready to sell, pricing above the market is one way to avoid parting with the vehicle.

So, if someone has a rarely spec'ed car that it can take more than 1 year for another similar car to show up, I see no issues with listing it for above market value. Now, how much extra? I am not in a position to decide on that but in my case I thought 10K above market value was great (specifically, 8-K above KBB private sale and 15k above KBB trade in). Having said that, my car did not have any aftermarket enhancements or wheels or ceramic brakes. At the end of the day, we all can try for months, one day if there is truly someone who is interested, someone will buy it as long as it is not too over-priced. In my view, rare options and clean/brand-new condition cars should be valued above fair market value (jus not sure by how much). All my cars were always rarely-equipped and in pristine brand new condition... and I always got more than fair market value for them, literally, always just because it was worth it first for me when i bought it and later for the 2nd/3rd owner after me.

my friend, it’s a 450. A 3.0 V6. The ccb is useless on the car, practically a unwise option to be selected rather. Not enough power to require a CCB from the beginning. Had this been a 63 than a totally different story.
Only a fool would appreciate the forged wheels and uselss CCB on this car for 90K. 30K overpriced for a 450.
Have some sense in you before posting something of this absurdity.

Here is some BaT data. You can decide what it means to you. The lower priced units are SL550s. Anything above $80k in this data is SL63 or SL65.
The preowned market is softening now across the industry. Are you aware of this?
Carbon brakes are irrelevant. 80% of buyers don't know what they are, 15% of buyers see them as a negative due to cost, and 5% of buyers who appreciate carbons are looking for the V8 engine to go with the brakes.

Just for reference, I am looking to buy a loaded 2019 or 2020 S560 sedan. If I find one with MBC, ENL & 3D, in a color I like, with ultra low miles, in pristine condition, I’d pay WAY, WAY over the supposed “market” value. Different strokes.
