Looking to rehome my '04 wagon - 3 owners (that I know of) and people in my family have been the last two, since '07 or '08. This was the townie/grocery getter/drive-in movie car for the majority of the past 20 years; engine/trans in good shape, car was serviced regularly - new ignition coil installed 18 months ago, starts/runs fine. NO CEL. Best heated seats ever. Power moonroof, a moody 6 cd changer AND cassette! Currently out of inspection due to an exhaust issue, the mechanic said he "couldn't find the flanges to hang it." Maybe your guy can. Other "quirks" include: the e-brake seizes from time to time (we don't use it anyway). There is a leak in a rear brake line, and is why the car was parked last summer; easy fix, I already had it done on the other side. there is a broken spring in the rear that sounds like a squeaking mattress; we learned to live with it. There is rust but nothing gratuitous, as you know these particular wagons were notorious for tailgate corrosion (which this has). Also showing small spots in the D pillar and wheel well positions (see pics). Needs battery. Really needs to be washed, too. The hood closes properly - it is only ajar so that I could take pictures, and so that you can look inside. Please note that this car cannot be driven and must be towed/trailered due to the brake line. Sorry, not parting out. I would love to see this go to an MB enthusiast here than some weirdo on facebook. Keep it alive - it's a classic! Please PM- if it's listed, it's available. Sold as-is, have title in hand. $1800. Just discovered this morning that the trunk lid is closing but not latching.
An easy fix? Probably. Just one to add to the list of quirks.
