Description:
I bought this car in early 2023 in southern California. Based on what I was told the car was owned by an older lady there for most of its life. I immediately drove the car back to Tampa from California. During my ownership I have done a ton of maintenance. The first things I did were:
Oil and filter change
Trans fluid and filter change
Replace spark plugs
Replace valve cover gaskets and vent hoses
Replace crank position sensor
Replace trans mount
Replace all four pads and rotors with new brake fluid
Replace engine air filters and cabin air filter
Replace tires with four new Michelin PS4S tires 235 in the front 265 in the rear (Right rear rubs slightly over bumps)
Replaced the rear tires again six months ago with Michelin AS4s in the same size
During a trip up to Georgia the plastic end tank on the radiator cracked and blew apart so replaced the radiator and coolant on that trip. Later on I replaced the fog lights, the mirror turn signal lights, and the fender side marker lights. The coolant reservoir cracked and leaked coolant so I replaced that as well. Shortly after the water pump was leaking so while I was in there I also replaced:
Replaced timing window gasket
Replaced oil cooler gaskets
Replaced water pump
Replaced coolant temp sensor
Replaced engine belt and tensioner with pulley
Throughout the ownership of the car the steering was softer than I was happy with so to solve that I replaced the thrust arms, lower control arms, and the steering rack bushings. The car had a check engine light for the secondary air pump so I replaced it along with the switchover valve and the relay.
The previous owner of the car failed to mention some of the blemishes the car had before selling it to me. The car was in a small front end collision around when it was new. Because of that the paint on the hood and on the front bumper aren't quite as nice as the rest of the car. To preserve the paint as much as possible I ceramic coated the entire car using Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light and EXO v5.
Other problems with the car include: One of the remote keys doesnt work to lock or unlock the car but it does still work to start the car. The other remote key does work to lock and unlock the car but only if its pointed at the drivers door handle. The sunroof works but you have to hold the button for it to go all the way back. The rear sunshade works but sometimes gets stuck in the up position.
The last thing i can think of to mention is the subwoofer replacement. The oem sub was on its way out so I decided to go with a Rockford Fosgate enclosed 10". It is ran using the original subwoofer wiring with the original amp. I think it sounds good and its not obnoxiously loud. If you wanted to get more out of it an auxiliary amp would do wonders. I mounted the sub upside down under the speaker tray to try and leave as much free space in the trunk as possible.
