I appreciate the offer and it’s a great looking S211! I bought one a little over a month ago and haven’t updated anything as it’s been at the dealer for the SBC unit. I JUST got it back a couple of days ago and I just wanted to make sure it was okay before updating this thread.
Were you able to get the service performed by a charitable dealer, or did you pay out of pocket? I have heard rumors of very generous dealerships able to slide the service in under the expired service bulletin, but have not seen it myself?

The warranty isn’t expired as it’s 25 years/unlimited mileage, but yeah, didn’t cost me a thing! I need to get my wife’s ‘06 E350 in next!
Thanks! It has the dynamic/cooled seats like I wanted. Unfortunately no HID’s or Keyless Go, but I can retrofit the HID’s. It has 212K on it and needs some love, but mainly mechanical which I can do. Getting ready to do a full fluid/filter exchange on the driveline as well as replace the front axles and front driveshaft. It clunks at times and binds while turning at parking lot speeds, so we’ll see.
Aaaaah, thats my fault, I conflated the gas tank bulletin...I have not had any issues with the SBC during my ownership, but aware of the possibility. Enjoy. I bought mine to be a Sunday cruiser and parking lot pimper, but even with its tire/suspension set up it had proved itself to be a fantastic grand tourer traversing the country North to South a handfull of times.
That’s what I plan to do with mine: have it be my long distance cruiser and for when I don’t feel like driving a manual. I’ll hopefully get the car straightened out in the next few months, but we’ll see.
