Description:
Fire sale on this amazing set up. I just purchased it from another forum member with a C63 thinking of course it would work in my SL63, same engine right? But no joy due to how the hood sits. So I'm willing to take a major loss on this to get it gone quick so I can order the correct one. I paid $1500 for it, then they went on sale at BB for $1300 (down from $1699) plus tax and shipping, but I understand there is a multi-week lead time to produce and ship. So this one will arrive in less than a week depending on location!
This is literally near NIB except for a minor scratch on the left housing (seen in the photos) caused by the PO. The PO only tracked it a couple of times and removed it for his own reasons. Comes in all original packaging will the swag (keychain, license plate frame, etc.) and all screws needed included.
PO said it makes the car sound Amazing!
I'm asking $1100 plus shipping (OBO). See attached photos and look it up on blackboostusa.com
Do you know what is different about the version of this intake for the SL63?
The only part in the M156 intake system that varied by model (from the factory) is the ram air tubing, and it appears that the BB intake uses the factory ones.

I've done so many mods on different euro cars over the years, but this one gets me.
I'm still pleased with the original M156 intake without the Helmholz resonator on top of the Y pipe. I was finally able to obtain the piece that goes on the side of the engine a couple of years ago.
I need to stop late night shopping... But love any new gear that comes out. Didn't expect any hiccups with this, but live and learn...

Hopefully it's a simple adjustment. If it clears comfortably without the riser, I'm sure you could rig up something smaller using a threaded rod and generic spacer.
Nature of the aftermarket, unfortunately...especially when development was done on 1 or 2 models and the final product is sold to a broader range untested.
If you do get it to work, very interested to get your impressions.
Regarding the engine-side vacuum reservoir, were you able to get it to fit on the SL63 in the factory-M156 location?

As for the vacuum res, yes, I was able to mount it to the factory location. It took some fancy finger-work, but indeed was able to.
I put an old tune, Eurocharged Performance I think it is, and ran out to the country roads for about 20 miles. It was extremely pleasant!
