Description:

Decided that I’m ready to get back into a 911, so looking to sell my wagon. It’s a S211 ‘07 E63 AMG w/ 142k miles on the odometer currently and carries a clean title in my name.

If you’re looking for a low mileage factory example, this isn’t the car for you.

If you’re looking for a well maintained example that’s been driven, this is one to consider.

For those who aren’t familiar with these cars, only 153 were produced for the US in the S211 chassis and only 67 were produced in ‘07.

To give a little background on myself - my personal goal is to own, experience, and modify as many unique cars as possible.

I came across this car back in May ‘25. At the time, I had a ‘10 W204 C63 AMG with a fully built motor and Weistec Stage 2 supercharger. After a close friend let me drive his E92 M3, I decided that I wanted to try one for myself, so I had to sell the AMG to fund the M3. I had the car listed on marketplace for a while but only got tire kickers, so I decided to find an MB forum to list the car as it would take an enthusiast to appreciate the build on the W204.

Once I found MB forums, I checked the marketplace and noticed the wagon had recently been listed for sale.

It caught my attention initially as I never knew they made an E63 wagon, even after owning a couple W211 E55’s in the past. In addition to that, I found the modifications from the previous owner to be appealing.

While the wagon wasn’t what I was looking for initially, I tend to veer towards unique and uncommon platforms. While the E92 M3 is a very nice car, they aren’t “uncommon” - at all.

After selling the C63, I reached out to the owner of the wagon and inquired about the car.

Once I reviewed the mod / maintenance list, we jumped on the phone to discuss the remaining details and I drove out the next day to see the car in person and took it home.

According to the previous owner, the car was mechanically sound but cosmetically needed TLC. Many small items were either damaged / missing, so many of the items he replaced are small things.

The list that he provided includes:

 2025

3/14/25: Black Series Steering Wheel

3/14/25: Muffler Repair

I picked up the car from the owner on May 21st, 2025 and this is everything that I did to the car.

5/20/25 - Thule Motion 3 (L) Cargo Box

Before I picked the car up, I went ahead and ordered a Thule Motion 3 Cargo box in Gloss Black, L size. While I was tempted to go with the Vector series Thule, I wanted the box to be usable as I do have 2 young kids.

5/22/25 - Paint Correction and Ceramic Coating

While the repaint on the car looked good, light surface scratches were visible. I did a 1 stage paint correction knowing that the cars paint wasn’t original and that removed most of the surface scratches on the surface. I applied a layer of GYEON MOHS Evo ceramic coating which is rated to last up to 3 years with proper maintenance. The car is always hand washed using the safest washing methodologies and garage kept.

5/21/25 - ProClip USA Phone Mount

When it comes to phone mounts, I don’t like to mount anything to the dash or windshield. In my experience, I’ve found that ProClip USA offers vehicle specific mounts that are normally out of the way. I also chose a MagSafe bracket that’s compatible with my current phone.

5/22/25 - Oil Change Kit ordered

After clarifying with the previous owner, I got the 0W40 Motul oil change kit from FCP euro to keep it consistent with what the previous owner used.

5/29/25 - Maryland State Inspection & Oil Change

I put the car through Maryland State Inspection and during that time, I had the oil change completed with the kit that I ordered from FCP Euro.

5/30/25 - Duralast Platinum H8 AGM Battery

The battery seemed to be running low, so I replaced it with a brand new Duralast H8 AGM battery from Autozone. The battery does have a 3-year warranty and I also installed a CTEK quick disconnect to keep the car on a trickle charger when it’s not being driven.

6/4/25 - Front Grill Replacement

As you can imagine w/ 141k miles on the odometer, the front grill was in good shape overall with no major defects but the nicks overtime stood out against the chrome for me, so I replaced the front grill to start fresh.

6/8/25 - Carbon Fiber Side Skirt Extensions and Wing

While researching cosmetic parts for this car, I noticed there are minimum (to no options available specifically for the S211 chassis - atleast to my findings). Since there weren’t any options for the side skirt extensions, I figured I would try the sedan versions to see how they would fit. Overall, they fit well but they are the slightest bit longer but it’s not very noticeable.

Regarding the rear wing, I found no options except for a brand on eBay. While I’m very skeptical, I figured I would give it a try to see how it looks on the car and it surprisingly looked good, so I mounted it to the car.

6/27/25 - Carbon Rear Side Splitters

Since the car had a front lip and side skirt extensions, I felt like it needed something for the rear to complete the flow. After comparing the style and shape of the sedan rear bumper vs the wagon, they looked similar so I ordered a pair to see if they could potentially work. After they arrived, I mounted them and they seemed to line right up, so I installed them.

7/23/25 - Carbon Fiber Front Lip

When I first picked up the car, the front lip had some damage on the lower driver side of the lip. After shopping around, I found a different style that I liked much better than the existing lip, so I swapped it out.

7/24/25 - Fuel Cap Replacement

The string that normally attaches to the fuel cap was missing so I decided to replace the assembly.

7/25/25 - Paintless Dent Removal

Ever since I picked up the car, there were several dings around the car. A couple on the driver side, couple on the passenger side, and a few on the rear hatch. I had a local company called Dents, Dents, Dents come out and did a great job repaired the imperfections.

7/30/25 - Repairs and Resonator Delete

I wanted to do something with the exhaust system to give it a slightly more aggressive tone. I was introduced to a local friend that’s a talented fabricator, so I reached out to him and inquired about doing a resonator delete. While he had the car up on the lift, he noticed that the rear brake lines were rusted out. I had an upcoming work trip the next day that required me to be away for a week so I left the car with him to do a resonator delete and address the rear brake lines. He replaced them with quality fittings and copper lines. While he was working on them, he also pointed out that the rear caliper lines were dry rotted, so he also replaced them with OEM lines.

8/17/25 - AC Sticking

Ever since I got the car, the AC system would sometimes stick. There would come a point sometimes, where the HVAC system would stick and wouldn’t stop blowing. Despite trying to adjust the blower level, turn the system off, and turn the engine. I posted the issue on a forum and people had recommended replacing the HVAC blower motor, ACM resistor, and cabin air filter. Even after replacing those items, I still had the issue.

8/23/25 - New Battery & Alternator

While on my way to a car event in PA, a red battery light appeared on the dash. I continued to drive and then the ABS light came on, SRS light followed, and then a pre-safe light came on, so I found a safe place to pull over and shut the car off. After waiting a couple minutes and trying to start it again, the car was dead and didn’t have enough power to start. Thankfully, I had a jump box in the car and when I attempted to jump it, it did start but all of the error lights were still on, so I shut everything back off.

A good friend of mine was with me and he ran to the store to grab me a new battery. Once we put that into the car, the error lights went away and the car fired right up and drove fine but I did notice that the battery voltage didn’t go over 12V which indicated that the alternator likely failed, especially because there was no record of it being replaced. That day, I ordered a Bosch alternator from FCP euro and paid to have it expedited. I also purchased a voltage regulator not knowing that it came with the alternator, so I kept it as a spare as it’s a known component to fail.

8/27/25 - Alternator Install

Once the alternator arrived, I dropped the car off to my local independent shop where they replaced it. Once I picked it up, I drove it around a bit and the Voltage range stayed between 13.5V - 14.2 V.

8/27/25 - iCarsoft V3

I decided to invest in a scan tool specifically for MB to try and figured out if there were any error codes relating to the HVAC system. I did receive an error 90B0 - B10/4 (In-Car temperature sensor). After doing some research, I read that a faulty ambient temp sensor or in car temperature sensor could cause the HVAC system to not work properly.

So I ordered both sensors from FCP Euro.

9/1/25 - Master Power Window Switch  and Ambient Air Temp Replacement

Ever since I got the car, the window lock switch was stuck. I purchased a replacement switch and now everything works as it should.  I also replaced the outdoor ambient air temp sensor that’s located on the driver lower grill.

9/3/25 - In-Car Cabin Air Sensor Diagnosis

I decided to try and replaced the in-car cabin air sensor which is located right next to the key hole. From doing research, there wasn’t a ton of information with how to access it, so it took me a while to figure it out but I was able to remove the sensor. I did notice that the sensor was dirty, so when I went to open up the box of the sensor that I ordered from FCP, I noticed that they were completely different. I took note of the manufacturer part number and ordered a Genuine OEM one from Parts Geek to replace it. In the meantime, I left the old defective sensor out completely and the HVAC system seems to be working as it should. I do have a brand new in door air temperature sensor for the car.

9/6/25 - Serpentine Belt Failure

On my drive to a cars and coffee event early in the am, I suddenly lost power steering and noticed that voltage dropped well below 13V, so I immediately pulled over.

After parking, I popped the hood and noticed that coolant was spewing and the serpentine belt had shredded.

Called a Tow Truck and had it taken to my local independent shop to address.

Once it arrived at the shop, I spun all of the pulleys to see if any seized up or if there was any play in the new alternator. Everything seems to be fine, so I replaced the serpentine belt.

During the install, I noticed that the plastic breather hose from the thermostat housing had broken off, so I ordered a replacement thermostat housing which included the plastic breather piece that broke off.

When I turned the car on, I noticed a “top off coolant light” on the dash so tried filling the reservoir with coolant only to notice that it wasn’t holding. After taking a step back, I noticed the coolant pouring onto the serpentine belt from the thermostat housing, which I believe was the culprit of the belt slipping / shredding.

A had a local mechanic do a coolant flush and replace the thermostat housing. We let the car run for 30 minutes with no signs of leaking from anywhere so everything is good.

At this time, there are no error lights on the dash, no leaks, and the car runs and drives as it should.

In my free time, I like to attend “Cars & Coffee” type gatherings and even host a few local events throughout the year.

The car is always hand washed, garage kept, and only driven on fair weather days. It carries a clean title in my name and has 1 key. All documentation from the previous owners and myself are all together and organized.

$40k would be my price and for anything less, I will happily keep it and enjoy it until the right offer comes along.

Happy to answer any questions anyone may have about the car.
