Description:
Probably the most pristine set of these original equipment Bilstein/Mercedes front dampers available, outside of dropping USD$900 for a new pair from Germany (special order).
I swapped these out for the new units I just mentioned not because of any particular issue with the original pair but because I thought that surely after 23 years (1996 C36 AMG) the originals must be worn out.
Well, I was wrong, these are mint! Maybe it's the fact that the vehicle has lived it whole life on the pristine roads/no salt environment of southern Vancouver Island. Or that the build quality is just that good. Zero leaks, strong compression and crisp return. Smooth through the full stroke. Even the finish is amazing. I would have just reinstalled these if I hadn't just bought non-refundable special order replacements. : /
