Description:
Selling a 1999 C43 AMG (W202) for a friend of mine.
206k miles, 4.4L V8 5 Speed automatic
744 Brilliant silver with two tone Black/White leather interior
A california car it's whole life until being brought to Washington a few years ago. 5 previous owners.
There were only 546 c43 AMG's sold in 1999. 4.3L v8 engine with plenty of power, these are little pocket rockets.
In the last few weeks I have done:
Service B- New wiper, cabin filter, air filters, oil change, new oil filter
Repaired ground cable on blower motor
Replaced differential fluid 75w-90 GL5
Replaced brake fluid DOT4
Inspected spark plugs, ok for a while before needing replacement
Full paint correction, sealed with Adam's ceramic liquid wax and Griot's sealant
Leather cleaned and conditioned
Bose rear speaker grills repainted
Removed sunroof seal and cleaned
Brand new fog lights
18" monoblock wheels 18x8.5 all around
Checked codes and found a recurring code for the ignition switch. Sometimes when starting the car it immediately dies, but always starts up. Intermittent issue to be addressed in the future.
Previous maintenance:
Engine and transmission mounts
Bosch crankshaft sensor
Valve cover gaskets
Tie rod ends
150k miles the A/C system was serviced, MAF replaced, Coolant temp sensor replaced
Muffler replaced, Oxygen sensor replaced
170k EGR vacuum routing repaired
The driver seat bottom cushion was recovered in vinyl.
The original shift knob is in the car, but it's in rough shape
I contacted Mercedes for the Radio code, but it isn't accepting it.
Little bit of rust I repaired on the sunroof area and the front near the windshield, although that paint blend isn't the best.
Fun fact: you can swap in the m113 engine/transmission into the c43 making it a "c55" without modification.
Originally a $50k+ Msrp, this wasn't a cheap car.
Thanks for looking, I have the carfax if you need it.
