Maybach AMG Model

I don't know if I'm blowing this out of my rear end, but somewhere along the lines somebody told me that in general, your top speed was affected primarily by horsepower, and acceleration by torque, in terms of the same body with different engine.

The Lingenfelter Corvette can do 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, and this car is as light as a feather with 750hp.

Nope, the Lingfelter Supercharged Corvette. I think it was C/D who compared it to a Blue Angels F14, and guess who won? The 'Vette. But if they would have catapaulted the Jet, the jet would have one.
Great article. I suggest you find it and read it!

I doubt for marketing reasons that AMG would tune MayBachs. Not that that would be an entirely bad thing. However, anyone ever imagine AMG tuning Chryslers? Now that would be a tragedy!

Exactly, or AMG tuning the Smart. It just won't happen. The Maybach and Smart are not marketed as a Mercedes-Benz.

Yeah, I read that article too. It was somthing like 0-60mph in 1.86 seconds.
As far as the Maybach, why would you want it to go that fast? This car was designed for the passenger. You have to realize that the price of the car is not the biggest issue, it is putting a full-time driver on payroll. What do you think a full-time driver would expect to make a year? $50k? Just wondering.
