Wow.. how many times have you seen a 300,000 dollar car at mcdonalds? I can say that Ive never seen a 300,000 dollar car there. That was my point. Its odd. Oh my fricking god, I made an observation! Ive seen a bently continental GT parked infront of a tiger shulmans, but thats it. I THINK that its rare to see a car like that somewhere like that. Is that a problem?

This is true... but something that large and ostentatious just screams "im mr.moneybags" Props to the people who have these cars, they cost more than my house lol! Do they come in non-weird looking two-tone?

Been a very long time since I posted here, but I still love Mercedes. I have been in both a Maybach 62 and a 57S. Never really had too much experience with them other than seeing a couple at the autoshows, but a few days ago I decided to have a closer look. The exterior styling I thought at first was iffy, but if its in all black or silver I think it works. The interior is absolutely gorgeous, I love it. I could not get enough of it. I was only in the 62, both front and rear seats. For the 57S I also checked out the front and rear seats and was invited to take her out for half an hour on a test drive. We got her up to 100mph which is pretty amazing considering the roads we were on, although I wish I had some highway time. Runs very smooth, quick, and fairly quiet unless you floor it. The V12 TT is amazing. The handling was exceptional as well, especially considering the car weighs just over 6,000lbs! Not that it handled like an Elise, but I'd say it was on par or even better than a CLS.

Not to flame, maybe slightly humorous, but really, the person driving is a NYer, also a human being, they can't eat at McDonald's? What car you drive has 100% no bearing on what you eat, humans eat food, McDonald's serves food, wow. My good friend has a CL55K, Bentley Arnage T, and a Ferrari 360 CS, his favorite resturant is Krystal, is that really funny? Sorry.

I was lucky to drive 6 57s and 1 62 on a closed track in 2004 ....they move...faster than my old dog of a 500E!

Best damn car in the world IMO ....and used ones are looking real good priced at 170-200K $

Not my choice for eaterys but what the hey; he may own that one he's in line at !

Sorry to be OT, but how is the 500E, I've been looking to buy one for about a year, but I'll only strike at a perfect car with anything around 50K, I know the chance of finding it is slim to none, but I am too **** retentive. I have a Porsche and an MB, so I figured I'd need a Porsche MB as well. What's the performance like when compared to say an '00 E55, if you've driven one.

Thumbs up

Now would be a good time to pick up a 500E....market is at its lowest and many 'collector' cars are coming up for sale with low miles. Beware of cars that have not been driven though, 500Es are notoriously a PITA when not driven. Not unlike any older car really that isn't driven.

Anyway, straight line the newer E55s will smack it but on a track or auto-x I have never lost to any year E55 . Smoked a 04' E55 by 2+ seconds at a Starfest auto-x....so, to me, the handling and build quality blow any new MB away still....and its pretty easy to work on IMO. Definitely destined to be a classic MB...if not already. Some parts specific to 500Es are now getting hard to find, but there seems to be cars going to the recyclers all the time though. The rest of the car is parts bin MB; and parts prices are still very reasonable for MBs.

If I remember, the Maybachs I drove did 13.5s in the 1/4 miles and a 5 sec 0-60. 500Es can do a 14.0 flat and maybe a 5.5 0-60. Still good for a 14 year old car. And it would look good next to your Maybach !

Yes, I know its crazy and I don't think I exagerated those numbers too much...they seemed like only 4000 lbs (instead of 6000) and were very nimble as far as a big, long limo car goes; even the 62 was smokin' fast.

I missed a recent 57S event , anyone hear about it or go from here? ... bummed about that. But did do the AMG Challenge and got to drive the new E63, CLS 63, CLK 63 cabby and the rest of the slower 55 cars...LOL. man, my 500E seems like a slo dog now after that too.

kinda like many people do not know what an Aston Martin is. They think it looks cool, and can remember it from bond, but never really know what it is...

wierd place to say that, since no one was on the topic and this is a thread about maybachs, but they canceled it because the C class is going to be remodeled shortly...

I was in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. I had a massive hangover and a craving for a big, fat greasy burger. The MGM took me to the drive thru at In-N-Out Burger in one of their 62's. For those who have never been to In-N-Out, there is a big window that runs the length of the drive thru so you can see the kitchen. Almost the entire staff just completely stopped working to stare.

I dont care if I owned the Maybach brand and was soo filthy rich it seeps out my pours,I would still go eat where ever I wanted to...Money doesnt buy class...Rappers are about as classless as they come(other then Jay Z or dIDDY). CLASS is what YOU are!not the size of your wallet.

Being a NY car, in the Hamptons no less, I would guess it was a chauffer driven car. A good portion of high end luxury car owners in the NYC metro area have drivers and if they have a house out in the Hamptons, the driver goes too

Ive seen a Bentley Arnage RL at Popeyes. Whats to say that wealthy people dont get hungry and dont feel like dropping 100 bucks for a small *** steak at some fancy resturant?
