I drove one at Pebble Beach last weekend. I struggle with its $400K plus price tag.

The Zepplins were filled with hydrogen, not helium. The former is explosive.

My dad saw the ill-fated craft go over that day about 50 miles from its demise.

PS I recall when two tone MB was common ala the Maybach and quite tasteful and distinctive.

 

If someone doesn't need an ego boost then why would they wanna be reminded how rich they are?

 

Excellent! I'll pick one up for $15~20 grand in about 10 years from now, if the recession continues. Those "Billionaires" can listen to the sound of silence with their fancy PA-listening systems, as I marvel at how quickly their cars hemorhage residual value over that time.

 

So did the rest of the market. Really a bad marketing job on MB's part. The car is unbelievably better than an arnage, phantom, etc. MB foolishly cheaper out in dumb places (e.g. why is the front all old S class parts re-used?).

I will say, I would definitely pay 400 for the landaulet.
