Sat in a Maybach...
It was a pre-production model, so it was missing a few trim panels in the backseat and all...but DAAAAAAYUUUUUUM.
The thing was still impressive. Dual-screen DVD-player...in-armrest six-disc changer...under-armrest refrigerator...translucent/transparent roof with selectable LCD panels (i.e., you can choose no light/roof closed, light only, or full transparent..all at the flick of a switch, and it's instantaneous...well, except for the opening and closing of the roof), same LCD panel for the chauffeur privacy panel...the thing was amazing. And the model he brought had the twin-turbo V12. 20" wheels with humongous brakes and dual front calipers are standard.
Amazingly, it only has a 26 gallon tank for a 7,000 lb vehicle that gets around 16 MPG.
Guess they figure that anyone who buys one has a chauffeur that can gas it up while they're in that pesky board meeting. So leaving the mountain, he bounced us on the two-lane road leading away from the mountain (this was on Route 28, for those of you that know the area around Kingston, NY)...we were doing something like 60 MPH, and he blew by us doing about 100 MPH. (He says it doesn't drive like a 7,000 lb car...) Then he lit up his high beams, and it looked the sun had its second coming of the day.
Man, it was impressive... *drool*
