Buying a new sprinter in Canada
I'm buying a new sprinter every 5y and this one is going to be my 3d one.
The recent quote for a cargo 2500 170 came up to 72K (before TAX).
It was way above my expectations.
The Canadian website is full of bugs on the first BUILD page (will reset all your selections except the last one selected)
I did use the USA website for comparison and this is what I found:
1. My dealer says that you have to buy a cargo floor or it will come without a floor and I have a choice of two, wood or plastic. (USA website offering the only extra option for the plastic floor, does it mean the wooden one comes as a default?)
2. In Canada the F02Z - Premium Plus Package forcing you to buy an F01Z - Premium Package, and my dealer says that because it will require a harness from the F01Z - Premium Package to run the F02Z - Premium Plus. If this is the case, why it will charge me the full price of the F01Z - Premium Package? The 7" screen is not going to be installed because the 10" screen includes in the F02Z - Premium Plus Package.
The USA website will not force you to buy the F01Z - Premium Package if you will buy the F02Z - Premium Plus Package and the cost of the F02Z - Premium Plus Package is the same (Canada vs USA).
3. The rear step is not included in the price in Canada but comes into the default package in the USA.
I will have an appointment on Tuesday for my current van appraisal and new van price negotiation.
Just need your opinion on the situation, do you think they purposely inflating the number so they can cut it off and make me feel like a winner? or what do you think is going on here?
