Vito Key/Ignition issues help..
Hi all,
Probably asking an obvious question but as they say " you don't know what you don't know" ...
My 58 plate Vito 115 is having intermittent key/ignition issues, sometimes the key won't turn (I've fitted a steering lock emulator to bypass it) , sometimes the van starts then stops and all the dash lights go out, sometimes it starts but there are no dash lights or indicators , electric windows etc...... and sometimes it starts straight away no problem :-)
I sent the key/ignition lock away to some techy guys in London who have checked them and can't fault either....
No one else in the motor trade I've spoken to seems to have any ideas apart from saying it's either your key...or lock.... so I was considering buying a second hand set from eBay (can't afford a set from Merc at their prices.. worth more than the van)
So my question is, if I buy a second hand set and fit them will they work without any other programming or do they need synching to the ECU?
Any advice would be appreciated as I get the feeling at some point I'll be stranded..
