Random beeping
Hey guys
Today my ML430 started doing something started tripping me out lol
When I open the DRIVER door a beep goes off, and this only happens when the car is off.
The same beep you get when you forget to turn off your headlights or remove the key from the ignition.
I have no idea what it making it go off, no warning lights except for the BAS ESP, but that's been on for a while. I checked to see if any all the doors doors were closed properly, beep is still going. Just note that this only happens when I open the driver door and the car is not running.
I need to replace the front tires but I don't think that's the culprit

Sorry for the long delay!
Yes it's the ignition hole acting up. When the beeping first stopped i did hear the "clunk"
Most of the time the beeping doesn't come up, when it does I put the key back in and twist the it a little

There is a spring and plastic tab that gets gummed up inside the ignition lock cylinder. The spring doesn't release the tab and the beeping continues when the key isn't in the ignition.

Try to spray a little WD40 into the ignition switch "a little", don't spray too much just like a second or so and see if it stops, or spray your key and slide it in few times...it should fix the problem and make sure for the future, you don't hold too many keys on your key chain...
