Having AC problems with my ML430
Hi everyone, I'm a single mother of three. My ac isn't working in my suv. The two outside vents are blowing out hot air, while the three center vents blow cool air. The air coming out of the center vents is not cold enough to cool the truck. I took it to a mechanic who recharged the compressor and, refill it with Freon. This didn't help me at all, the truck was the same as it was when I dropped it off. If any one knows what I should do to repair this problem please help me.

It could be a number of things causing this. I had a situation similar to yours it turned out to be an expansion valve. I took my truck to a local indy brake shop they recharged it and I had no Freon a month later. That valve is behind the firewall. I would suggest you try to find a good local independent MB mechanic to check it out for you. They can dye check it and know where to look. It may be the divert-er that directs the air; as I said it could be a number of things. Good luck!

Indy AC shop diagonsed mine as a leaky expansion valve last year.
Best thing is, get the AC checked out at a professional AC repair shop...

Air blend flap motor!
There is a little motor under the dash that control the flow of the cold air and the hot air, when the motor stuck in the middle it will blow cold air to the middle tunnel and hot on the one close to the door. if you want to avoid costly repair, you need to remove the glove compartment box and get a long screw driver and manually push one of the levers all the way in. look on YouTube for air flap motor repair or stepper motor for the blend flap, it will give you an input of what you are dealing with I am not sure what the year of you car but it might be part number 163 820 01 08. good luck.
