Distronic and active lane assistance.
I have a C63S sedan with the Distronic system and most of the time when it’s engaged it doesn’t seem to be working even on the straight line. For example, when the lane markers fade a little or when the car thinks it has to hard brake because the traffic ahead slowed down suddenly or when another car comes into the lane the system disengages and you have to manually swerve or manually hard brake. The system always turns off right when there is a possibility for impact. The Mercedes ad for Distronic makes you believe it does this for you automatically.
The dealer updated the active lane software but the new one is definitely worse. Always disengages with another car gets too close.
Is this true for all of you that use this?

Not at all. Your system is seriously malfunctioning. Should keep you car in it's lane, regardless of faded lines,and brake when traffic ahead slows down or comes to a halt. I'd see a different dealer and have them correct it.
