2019 c63s coupe - Race Start not working?

Hey guys, just bought a 2019 c63s coupe and passed my 1k mile break in. Was trying to engage launch control/race start and cant get it to engage?

The engine temps are in range, and in s+...

The owners manual says just to depress the brake pedal and accelerator and the release the gas pedal.

The previous method required you to pull the shift paddles forward prior. I have tried both but neither turn on race start?

I'd really appreciate any help...

I had the same issue (2019 C63s Sedan). You have to floor the gas pedal while holding the brake to get it into race start. You can't just slowly do it or it will freak out. Don't be shy. As long as you are in S+ or Race mode, it will go. You don't have to do anything with the paddles in 2019+ with the 9-speed.

Steering should be in the center position, amongst other parameters .
The slightest turn will not allow race start.

Figured it out. You actually have to press the break and slam the gas to initiate the rpm increase. Once it hits 4500rpm you let go of the brake to create havoc 😈... no paddles necessary.

Thank you! I saw this after I realized what I was doing wrong. You're exactly right, I was gradually applying pressure, not punching it... pretty impressive feature

2019 C63S COUPE
HI ALL ,
I'M NEW TO THIS WEBSITE FORUM.
I HAVE A 2109 C63S COUPE AND WANTED TO KNOW THE BEST SETTING TO MAXIMIZE ACCELERATION WITH LAUNCH CONTROL.
I DRIVE IN RACE MODE PRETTY MUCH ALL OF THE TIME.
IS TRACTION IN SPORT MODE BEST OR OFF COMPLETELY AND USING THE AMG DRIVE VARIABLE TRACTION SETTINGS? IF SO WHICH NUMBER ?
I FIND IF I DON'T SHUT DOWN THE TRACTION CONTROL AT LEAST TO SPORT TRACTION ( FIRST OFF POSITION)THEN THE REV LIMITER KICKS IN WAY TOO MUCH DUE TO THE WHEEL SPIN.
ANY SUGGESTIONS ?
THANKS
DAVID

No it’s not my first time on the internet.
Yes my keyboard was in race mode Lol.
Now that we are clear and my keyboard is now properly set to comfort mode,..
Some replies to my question would be greatly appreciated
Thanks ,

sport+ with comfort mode suspension

i've found that putting on comfort mode suspension while in sport+ has the best traction

As long as the 2018 is the same, once you are meet all of the requirements (some you mention) and are in sport, sport + or race (you don't have to turn off traction control) and are at a complete stop -- press and hold the brake pedal with your left foot - then with a fair amount of force, mash the gas pedal quickly to the floor -- the engine will rev to the factory preset, at which time you can modify the RPM up or down with the paddles --- once you're happy with revs, release the brake pedal while keeping the gas pedal to the floor.

On a pre-facelift you can't modify the launch RPM.

You will find the instructions in the owners manual. I'm not sure if the 2018 S63 uses the old or the new sequence. This is the C63. With the old sequence, you first need to press and hold both shift paddles at the same time and then when it prompts in the instrument cluster let go of the paddles and confirm by press the upshift paddle. After that the sequence is the same. Foot on the brakes, stomp the throttle and let go of the brakes when it's ready. With the older models you also can't adjust the launch rpm. That's only with the newer models that use the new sequence.
