PS4S or DR's

Time to change the rears this week, I only drive in dry/hot conditions and want to be able to launch and accelerate in 2nd and 3rd without wheel spin. I will go 305 as I have the coupe, but trying to decide between the PS4 or just going with straight DR's. Thoughts/input from guys with PS4 and DR's Thank you!

305 PS4S’s work great for me with just a Dinan tune.
I can still induce some 2nd gear wheelspin when torque hits hard down low, but it’s very controllable. Third gear feels solid, almost always hooks up except when the road surface isn’t great. Stock 285’s were undriveable, people with tunes should be absolutely required to upgrade tires.

If you’re running stock tune, 305’s make the car feel like it’s on drag radials. It’s actually perfect.

I’d only recommend DR’s if you’re going with upgraded turbos, or you’re trying to squeeze every last tenth at the drag strip on stock turbos (full bolt on, E85, water/meth, etc.)

I have 2019 C63S coupe with 1,100 miles on stock tires pilot super sport, ( front 255/35/zr19 and rear 285/30/zr20) traction feels a little shaky esp wet roads. I want to upgrade to PS4S. Reading different views: on upgrading to either265 or 275 front and either 295 or 305 years. Pros and cons would be helpful. 305 feel like drag radials? Not sure what that is.
Thanks.

I am running the JB4 now and plan to add their Meth Kit when available, so probably going to need the extra traction. I think I have it narrowed down to the Toyo R88R's or Nitto NT05's

Nitto can be had in 305/30/ZR20 and the Toyos in 305/35/ZR20

What is the stock rim size for the coupe in the rear? 10 or 10.5?

305/35 is too tall, they will not fit.

Thanks Man! In that case the Nitto's seem like the way to go, cheaper anyway so I can replace them more often!

Go Big or go home 😉😎

I just bought this 2018 C63GTS from Steve Dinan and he put on it 305/30/20 rears and 285/30/20 fronts. The tires are PS cup 2’s and they fit perfectly with no rubbing at all. The car has been lowered 1/2 of an inch with the addition of custom springs and additional suspension components. The wheels are custom forge line wheels 9.5 inches in the front and 10.5 rear. If you’re going to drive the car in the rain get the PS4S as I have found it to be a better all around tire and anything else out there but for dry weather only you can’t beat these Cup 2’s.

I've had all these on my 850hp shelby GT500 with great success traction and longevity...

Rear nitro NT01 and front NT555II
BFgoodrich eagle TA

Depending on size and cost in your area obviously. Nittos bang for your buck have always been a front runner in the industry.
