FIA name Bridgestone 2008 tyre supplier, And Microsoft will be the ECU supplier

Bridgestone has been selected to be F1's sole tyre supplier from 2008, the World Council said after a Paris meeting on Wednesday morning.

The Japanese marque, already supplier to several teams including Ferrari, is therefore to get a trial run for its three-year duties in 2007, after Michelin pulls out of formula one in protest of the rule.

The Council also decided that Microsoft has won the tender to become 'official ECU supplier' for the same period.

We all knew this would happen, but Microsoft for the ECU? Ha, we all know it's gonna crash. Was there any other tyre company like Goodyear, Continental, Dunlop etc apply?

As long as they don't add Microsoft help desk guys to the pit wall...

Kimi to pitwall: "I'm losing power on the rough hairpin exit"
Pitwall MS help desk guy: "Try shutting down the application and logging back in"
Kimi: "WTF?"

350kph in Monza and in steering wheel appears: "press CTRL ALT DEL to restart"

We won't have an on-board radio anymore, MSN Messenger and Outlook Express will do! Can you imagine those guys typing at 350 kph?
