Yeah... when it works! Like Scott Speed gong for dry tyres 10 lap before everyone else... had it worked, he would have scored, but since it didn't, it's a rookie mistake.

What I find interesting is that Todt has said that the team should have said something to calm MS down... one has this image of the pit wall controlling everything and being the voice of reason. Hyper concentrated drivers on an adrenaline high are like mad dogs and many times ignore pit wall, but the fact that they were "afraid" to even break his concentration shows a weakness in the team, and may be why MS has been known to make mistakes under pressure: He not only calls all the shots, but also initiates them. I mean, to not even get on the radio to tell him his options? I'm pretty sure that when this guys gets in the zone is when he makes all the controversial moves. I am beginning to understand his character a lot more.

Even if MS made a mistake, and luckily managed to score 1 point, doesnt mean that he has lost the championship. MS knows how to win more than any other driver out there. Personally I think he is still in a league of his own, and no other driver has ever won the amount of races that he has won and i dont see it happening any time in the near future.

Ofcourse mistakes happen if he is at limit all the time.
Hope that this champion stays open till the last race.

Nola, of course. When it works it is marvelous, when it dosent, well to bad- at least he tried. He took the risk and he payed for it. Thats what makes him a champion.

From what I understand the root cause was spinning the rear tyres up too much before the rear jack man had the wheels on the ground.

I agree with the poster who said it was the best race of the year.
