I like it. The new infield looks a lot less "mickey mouse" than the current version.

Cheers, BT

Yes, I like the idea of deleting "Mickey and Mouse" turns 8-9-10. But there's more here than meets the eye. Notice that part of the Oval North Chute (between Oval Turns 3 and 4) is now included (T4-T5). This is an extension of the current infield, which would effectively add more length to this section of the course to make up for the deletion of "MM." However, this map does not show the oval's pit entrance "warm-up" lanes, which I think would interfere with T4 and T5... unless everything is repaved to make it smooth for both INDY racing and F1.

I hope they go for it. I read that none of the drivers like the current turn 8-9-10 complex.

Nice!

I noticed quite a few empty grandstand seats, though, at the USGP this year; and I doubt Tony George, or Bernie E, wants more of them--which this layout certainly would create.

One point: Michael Schumacher has said that racing IRL style at the Brickyard is "dangerous"--implying that the four corners of the oval are problematic, unsafe, at the speeds of open wheel racing. Wonder how he would react to flying through three of the four foot-down-floorboard-flat-out if this were to become reality?
