The Verdict...
McLaren have been stripped of all their points in this year constructors' championship and handed a $100 million fine, following the World Motor Sport Council spy hearing today.
Fernando Alonsoand Lewis Hamiltonboth retain their points' in the drivers' championship.
OWNED?
$100 million fine??? Are we even going to see Mc-Benz team next season?

So basically, test driver from Ferrari and Alonso started this mesS?
I'm a bigger fan of Ferrari but i guess with out Mc-MB, F-1 will be BORING to watch

idiots
anyways, they should be back next year. they have enough resources. besides the 100mil, they also loose the 50 they were gonna get for winning the wcc. what really sucks is that no matter which of the mc drivers wins the wdc, it will be a wdc. they were found guilty of cheating and obviously they used the info, thats why they were fined. sad

From what I read on few websides:
1. Vodafone provided billings showing numerous text massages between 2 involved engeeneers.
2. Alonso admitting that he knew technical data of Ferrari's at the begening of the season- this one was the killer.
McLaren will compete but will not earn any point regardless of the race outcomes. Basically, if they compete it will be just for fun, or whatever other reason they'll think off.
It might be the end of McLaren as we know it.

Anyway, I feel nothing. The WCC means nothing to me so I just fell relieved that Alonso keeps his points. It will be interesting to see how the drivers react... Alonso gave McLaren the kiss of death this week by saying the WCC is not important to him, while Hamilton made a very public pledge of allegiance... I wonder if it will affect Hamilton's concentration.

No word has been said if they will let McLaren run their cars as they are on Spa
Once the cars are engineered it would be impossible to change the designs in such a short time. They only way would be to run last years cars!

[QUOTE=Nola;2409370]Like getting their sponsor's logo on world TV.
Well, we'll see about that. Vodafone screwed them with releasing phone / sms records .
this will probably end McLaren-Vodafone relationship.
Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't Vodafone Mc's biggest sponsor?

This is so sad......
I still dont get how ferrari still wants to re hire the guys that caused all of this.....
Maybe they did to screw Mclaren
if anycase Mercedes benz owns most of Mclaren, I would dump Ron Dennis and the Mclaren from F1 and Just make it AMG Mercedes
I bet you this is not over

I'm very disappointed the drivers didn't get docked points also. I will be watching (maybe) with less interest for awhile.
I wouldn't be surprised if FA has a little trouble with his pit stops from now on.

Ron Dennis in his statement refuses pretty much everything. I believe that he is saying that Stephney and Couhlan did it out of personal interest because they both wanted to work for Honda or Toyota implying (in my opinion) that they were planning to use that information to improve Honda/Toyota's performance. Hmm wonder how much of that is true...

the whole thing just stinks. we all know they spy on each other all the time. Mclaren just got busted!
this season just went in the toilet. because we know ferrari will win constructors but do they deserve it? to me NO...
this season started good for me. but now I feel who ever wins it wont desreve to win it. even the drivers
good think the NFL started last week cuz I dont think I would pay much attention on the rest of the season. FIA you SUCK!

100 Mil will be the fine... thats more than the whole Spiker team is worth.
I would not be surprise if the whole mclaren/mercedes benz team would just fold and say FU to the FIA and F1
Im must be real pissed to post 3 time about the same subject in 1 day.... lol
In my defense I just want them to race and prove they deserved to win the championship! Last year they dumped michillin Next year FIA are dumping the T.C. controls and other electronics. whats after that one engine company will provide all the motors? Ferrari would love that! ohh well enough rant from me!
Might just watch Nascrap.... lol

This is a joke. Ferrari cheated with their floating floor and finished 1-2 and was never penalized. McLaren ratted them out and this is why Ferrari is so hardcore about getting back at McLaren. Ferrari never gets penalized.
The donkey is good as gone for 2008. McLaren will do fine next year and while the fine is stiff, Lewis Hamilton is a cash cow and will bring in more than enough sponsor money.

Ferrari is awesome. They cheated using an illegal floating floor and go 1-2 in one race that it's used in and isn't penalized at all then get their main competition ousted for the wcc for blowing the whistle on them when a member of their team gave out their cheating secrets. It's only time before Spyker emails all of their competitors the plans to their car and cry spying and win the title.
