best race engine

hi guys.
i dont know whether this is the best place to discuss this, but i was wanting some guidance as to which MB engine would be the best option for building as a race-tuned engine for a track car.
i'm thinking of building a w202 and want to know which would be the best option in terms of power, price, availability of parts, reliability, etc.....

i have not decided on whether the car should be NA or forced induction.

any help would be appreciated...and if someone could steer me in the right direction to obtain the stuff required, i'd really appreciate it.

Ask in the OT (Off Topic) section. I know there are members who've done interesting things like putting a 560SEL engine into a 190E....and a C55 conversion from a C36 or some sort
