ok, so now can you go through and figure out how early we have to get our a**es out of bed on Sundays to watch the races?
Just kidding...Today, February 23rd, the year actually starts for me-the first race of cars w/o fenders! CART has 19 drivers, 8 of them rookies, first race on a new street course-can we say crashfest?

Overall, I thought most of the rookies performed pretty well in the CART race. I was a little bummed to see that hardly any of the cars were running much sponsorship, that always looks a little pathetic to me. Hopefully, the CART series will be able to stay afloat. It surprising how fast the management was able to ruin that series - think of how well it was doing in 2001.

The 14:00 start time for the Euro races is the same as they were last year. Therefore, no extra sleeping in on race day - be thankful that you don't have to get up at 4:30 am like I do.

I share your concern for the welfare of CART watchers. I don't know that we can lay all the blame on management though. I'm guessing it's been a lot harder for teams to find significant sponsors for this year than it was for 2001, and there will be fewer sponsorship dollars available overall.
We still do things for the Indiana Dairy Association, including the winner's milk bottle (we actually do 2-one for a back up). And my dad goes to the Rookie Luncheon every year, which is sponsored by the IDA. He met Montoya there a couple of years ago.
Unfortunately, unless the economy improves quickly, I fear the same fate for F1. I think that's the main reason Eccelstone threatened all of the cost cutting changes this year.
Getting up at 4:30 on a Sunday morning is just masochistic. Tape delay works well for me. I'm careful to avoid any sports news till after I watch, and I gain time by not watching the commercials. Come to think of it though, you would be finished watching the European races by 7AM, meaning that you're getting an extra two hours of useful daylight time compared to me. I'm not tough enough
