Although, I think the safety car has a more powerful version of the SL55's supercharged motor in it (>500 hp). The motor in the new CLK55 is a 362-hp normally aspirated V8.

The announcers on Speed Channel said that it was supercharged. I thought that was funny, but figured anything is possible in F1. They could have put a V12 in there.
So you guys are saying it definitely wasn't supercharged. That might explain why it was so slow trying to lead the field. Could you imagine trying to drive that thing with a supercharger in the rain and run it that hard. The drive almost as fast as they can to keep a decent pace for the cars. That CLK would be a handful.
