GRAND PRIX DE MONACO 2011 (Monte Carlo) - need help
I'm trying to reserve passes for Sat at the GRAND PRIX DE MONACO. is anyone familiar with this track? if so what are some of the preferred seating areas. perhaps turn 14 (6 gear, Gforce 3.61) and turn 6 (1 gear, Gforce 2.41)??? also any hotel recommendations are welcome.
Thanks in advance

You are only trying to get tickets for one of the most highly booked races of the entire year. Monaco is as much a social event as a car race, so the place gets swamped every year. The locals, tired of the flood of people, make tons of money renting their homes for the week while they skip town on vacation.
The Lowe's Hairpin (turn 6) is one of the most famous turns in F1, and among the most coveted of spectator venues. It offers almost no view to anyone not staying at that hotel with an overlooking view. I imagine those rooms fetch higher than already premium rates, and are likely booked years in advance.
You will have better luck at the swiming pool chicanes, Piscine (turn 14) among them. Actually, this area is the newest part of the track... the other well known and historic turns will likely be filled with throngs of people who return year after year.
The municipality is so small, I've heard of some who just wander around... The track is so short you can walk around it two or three times in the course of the race.
I would contact GPtours.com (http://www.gptours.com/) for advise. They book some of the better vantage points for group seating. Get out your checkbook though, as it won't be cheap. Monaco is expensive, even in the tourist off-season. And GP weekend is NOT one of those.

Renting a 2 bedroom apt there for the week with a good friend and his wife. That's the best strategy and sharing it halves the cost and doubles the fun. It'll be the fourth time we've done this (3rd in this apartment) but that last time was 2005-6 but little changes other than the prices keep going up.
Hotel De Paris will work very well for you too, a fun crowd at race week for sure.

I have been going to Monaco for 20 years.
Renting an apartment is one of the best ways to go. Allot of the hotels will be booked up shortly.... so time is of the essence.
As for places to sit:
The grandstands heading up the hill to the casino
swimming pool
stands after the tunnel
Rascasse
Those are my favorites.
