Ron Dennis has his head up his ***

I dont understand this guy. I've said it before, but i just get soo mad when i read something like this. Ron Dennis is completely focused on the wrong segments of Mclaren, i dont think he is as passionate about F1 as he used to be. First the multimillion dollar facility, & now ANOTHER Mclaren supercar. Has this guy even noticed that his team has a total of 5 fricking points & numerous engine/chassis problems.

McLaren to develop 'another road car' - report
Ron Dennis admits it’s a possibility

McLaren and Mercedes-Benz might develop another road car.

The Formula One collaboration recently unveiled the SLR 'supercar' but is now considering a second, less expensive model, according to a report in Auto Week.

"We are looking into the possibility," McLaren CEO Ron Dennis admitted.

A production volume of 15,000 cars is considered realistic, according to the Auto Week media report, compared to a projected 3,500 SLR models to be built.

Dennis has taken heat in 2004 over the decision to divert focus from the presently uncompetitive Formula One team to 'other projects' like the SLR.

Chill.

F1 is a business after all. You think the F1 team owners are in it purely for the love of the sport?

Besides its MERCEDES fault the stupid engine keeps blowing up. I wouldn't doubt it if they where short of the front runners by 50++ bhp

Yes it is a business & like all businesses you must succeed/win to be profitable. No i dont think they are in it purely for the love, but if you dont love your job, you will never have success. Whoever's fault it is: McLaren or Ilmor, Ron Dennis is the team principle, he must take the responsibility to put out a competitive race car on the track, period.

You expect them to do what exactly? Dennis needs to stay where he is, he is McLaren nowdays replacing him would be a big mistake. Ilmor on the other hand needs a big shake up, yes the MP4-19 is an OK car but that engine is truely pathetic.
