Monaco Grand Prix

Interesting practice for the GP, both Toyotas in the top five. The Michelins performed very well with eight cars in the top ten. For the McLaren-Mercedes, DC was third quickest, McLaren claimed he could have gone better but was practicing with a heavier fuel load. Unfortunately, KR crashed on his seventh lap in the morning practice and completely demolished the car, he didn't even get to run in the afternoon session.

Top ten practice times
1 Jarno Trulli Renault 1m18.915
2 Allan McNish Toyota 1m19.361
3 David Coulthard McLaren 1m19.597
4 Giancarlo Fisichella Jordan 1m19.680
5 Mika Salo Toyota 1m19.815
6 Ralf Schumacher Williams 1m19.937
7 Rubens Barrichello Ferrari 1m19.945
8 Mark Webber Minardi 1m20.028
9 Juan Pablo Montoya Williams 1m20.264
10 Jenson Button Renault 1m20.375

(MS was 11th and KR 19th)

Cheers, BT

As of 7am-8am (EDT) Saturday morning, the usual pecking order will be restored. Monaco is a no-aero, point and squirt, horsepower circuit only (no news here). The results of the race (retirements excepted) will be based on qualification order, so look for the usual Ferraris, followed by the Williams, McLarens, or Renaults or Saubers, etc. It is interesting to watch the Toyotas, as they are having more bits of brilliance than expected.

Qualifying results for Monaco

The Renault of Jarno Trulli should do quite well in the race, hopefully.
But here are the qualifying results for tomorrows race. As you can see the best time was over two sec faster than the morning practice time. MS was clearly handicapped by eye problems. I think that tomorrow RB will be no. 1.
