Thumbs down Check Engine (Engine Electronics)

Hi all, I have a 97 E420 sport, my check engine light is on and says engine electronics. At start-up, the car runs fine then it feels like one cylinder quits firing, anyone have any ideas on what to do? My nearest dealer is almost an hour away and I dont know if I want to drive that far on seven. Please help.

OBDII connector....

Go to an auto parts store and plug into an OBDII tester and see if it shows a failure code and go from there. It could point out a failure of a specific cylinder.
