AMG Engine plaques???

AMG Engine plaques???
Hi, I just saw a stock SLK32 and under the hood where the Engine builder's signatured plaque is suppose to be, its not there, there isn't even an indentation for a plaque, and I'm not mistaken, it is definitely a SLK32 I see all the tell-tale signs. I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this, I thought every single AMG engine had this plaque. On a separate note my service advisor told me that sometimes they mount the plaque on the crossmember? I was a bit skeptical when he told me this. Any info shared is much appreciated, thanks!
