my dad's 99 c230 kompressor shows negative 36degrees. Is there a fix? What does this means?

I assume you're talking about the outside temperature display. If it stays that way all the time, I would suspect the outside temp sensor, or it's wiring, has failed. Maybe it came unplugged or something. If the display changes but does so in a way that defies logic, i.e. going down when it gets warmer, varying wildly for no apparent reason, etc., then I would suspect the sensor itself is faulty.

 

I believe -36 means it isn't reading anything. on bmw -40 means the sensor is unplugged or missing or not working. search forums here.

 

where in this car, is the temp sensor located?

 

Front bumper - drivers side - in the air dam - little black probe sticking out, looks like a little pen cap.
